Global Air Traffic - see the video

Post by VK2ZRH » Thu Aug 13, 2009 4:47 pm

For all Aircraft Enhancement enthusiasts . . . and the plainly* curious . . . pick one of these links and take a Captain Cook at 24 hours of global air traffic compressed into a video 1min 12 secs long. YOU WILL BE AMAZED  [Links courtesy of Dave VK3HZ]

The YouTube version:

A WMV file to download: ... p?t=195052

See how the traffic changes dramatically when nighttime falls and sunrise passes . . . and how different this is in each region.

Now you can see why AE is popular in North America and Europe (and why it has become 'ho hum' for some ).

Will it become a "planning tool" for Australasian AE ?

Thanks to Peter Forbes VK3QI for the headsup.

Ho Hum?! Shame on them!

Sources suggest that the recent crop failures in North America and Europe are the result purely of the sun's rays being blotted out by all the air traffic in those areas. This video is all the supporting evidence we need! (I'm offering a discount on pitch-fork sharpening and flaming torches, but this week only...)

As a cure for the Ho-Hums, what we need is a few home stations active on 2.4 GHz. 1.2 GHz is becoming more highly populated with AE contacts, and 2.4 GHz seems the next logical step up.

Especially with all those ex-PayTV and Pyro Joe type amplifiers, and 3' PayTV grid-packs about the place!

There are 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Actually, the claim is that the contrails created by the air traffic, seed high level Cirrus clouds which block the sun- a more probable scenario.

I'm sure that Oscar performer Al Gore would have a theory. Apart from him inventing the internet 8)
