Re: 3.4 GHz Transverter Conversion (3.5 GHz WiFi transceiver

Hi Gary.
I did a Sinad measurement before removing the stub and for all practical purposes could not measure any difference in performance after removing them .
I don't have the capability of doing a swept response .

Hi Lou.'I have my panel completed and operating on FM using my VX5 as the exciter . I have had a contact with myself across the workshop to Peter's VK7PD panel . Both panels have approx the same RX performance and TX output , I dont think that it's worth the trouble to bring it with me as I intend t...

Re: Running costs VK3RRU

I think you are getting a little OFF Topic . All of these very nice extensions to a beacon cost money to run let alone time . I assume that you would require a computer and internet connection for WSPR operation If the bacon was in your shack and you could work on it at your leisure not a problem. V...

Re: 23cm Amp??

Hi Rick.
Peter VK7PD has a 65 watt amp module that came from Alan VK3XPD that I am sure he would part with as he has now upgraded.
Note it will require building all the switching .

Re: Sticky for through the hole antennas

Hi Bob..
Use some thin double sided tape ,otherwise go and see you local carphone installer as they use on-glass aerials for in car kits.

GME used to supply the special tape otherwise RF Industries .

Do you have a two -way radio specialist close by ?

Re: VK7RAE Beacon Frequency Test

Thanks for the reports all very interesting . Andrew your measurements are about the same as mine . I cannot measure the 1296 beacon as I do not have a rig. The 1296 Beacon is a Kuhne 1296 GPS locked transverter driven by the 144.474 GPS locked beacon so the 2M error will be reflected on 1296 . I ha...

Re: Dielectric loading of rain drops...?

Hi Steve. I had exactly the same problem with a 6M7JHV . When it started to rain the SWR went up some what . However if it kept raining it would come back down a little . Like you I thought there was possibly a problem with the coax . I am using the same coax run with a 6M8GJ without any problems . ...

Wish mine was that neat

He is one I prepared earlier has a little dust on it from waiting for the 1296 transverter which is being mounted on another Unilab heatsink .

Great work.

Re: JT65 Moon orbit probe?

Hi Kevin.

What was the temperature of the craft ?

I noticed in today's paper that the Chinese space vehicle had returned to Earth . I assumed that "our" satellite was a piggy back ride . Has 4M also returned ?

Is this why is was so strong

No sign of it as yet today .
