VERY IMPORTANT Event on Wed night.

Aircraft expected over Australia around midnight Wednesday.

Airline: Santaire

Registration: OH-HOHO

POB: 1

Flight path: enter over Exmouth Gulf then zig zag south across country.

Visual identification: Has red light on nose not on the port wing.

Note: This is aircraft is HPRF- powered and therefore very fast, so the AE window will be short. Will also be making rapid descents and climbs making antenna tracking difficult.

I will be attempting to contact the pilot OF9X tonight to obtain more details of his flight plan and to find out if he will be working aero-nautical mobile whilst over Australia.

I have been told a very strong ironized trail is left behind due to the fast speed of the craft, the trail is close to the E layer which could be interesting...I will be beaming towards the North Pole from 8pm NZDT....

Because the aircraft is HPRF powered the ionisation trail is much hotter and denser than that produced by jet aircraft. It will be interesting to see if we can get some AE contacts between VK and ZL as it crosses the Tasman.

I am disappointed that nobody has asked what HPRF power is! I guess everyone knows.

Your close! High powered reindeer farts. A few years ago there was a formal landing request for a HPRF-powered aircraft to land on the grass runway at RAAF Base Townsville on Christmas eve. It caused quite a fuss before they realized it was a joke :lol: There was a suggestion that it started in the padre's office, I am not sure why they thought that :mrgreen:

I retired from RAAF chaplaincy in August. This is the first Christmas for 17 years that I haven't been on call. I feels a bit odd not having my cams hanging in the hall and my field kit in the boot of the car.

I'm not on-call this stand-down period... :thumbup: Been a very busy year and I am enjoying the four weeks off until we run headlong into preparing to go on-line and God knows whatever else 2015 has in store for the ADF.
